Ivy League Roundup: Harvard, Brown earn dramatic, hard-fought wins
- Updated: January 27, 2018
Harvard (8-10, 3-0) 54, Yale (8-11, 1-2) 52
Yale overcame a 16-point deficit and finally took the lead with 5:11 remaining before losing to Harvard, 54-52, before 2,532 who packed its Lee Amphitheater in the Payne Whiney Gymnasium.
The Crimson matched idle Pennsylvania for first place in the Ivy League. Both are 3-0. Yale (1-2) fell into a fifth-place tie with Columbia.
Trailing 52-49, Yale had the ball with five seconds left when Miye Oni missed a 3-point attempt that could have forced overtime. It was an Oni layup that had given Yale its brief lead. Harvard responded with two free throws and, for the second straight game, Yale’s Alex Copeland scored a meaningless 3 as time expired.
Harvard’s Chris Lewis led both teams with 16 points, while teammates Towns and Corey Johnson, and Yale’s Copeland, each had 11.
Brown 64 (9-7, 2-1), Dartmouth (4-11, 0-3) 62
Dartmouth lost its second straight game at the buzzer when Zach Hunsaker hit a floating jumper for a 64-62 win by Brown at the Pizzitola Sports Center in Providence.

Dartmouth had created a 62-62 deadlock on a free throw by Will Emery but he missed the second.
Hunsaker finished with 12 points. Emery led both teams with 18.
Dartmouth remained winless in the league, while Brown (2-1) tied Princeton for third place.
