Western Michigan Broncos: NCAA Tournament Profile
- Updated: March 16, 2014
Western Michigan Broncos (23-9, 14-4 MAC)- The MAC champions rolled through the MAC regular season at 14-4 and have won 9 of their last 10. 6-3 guard David Brown leads the team in scoring at 19.4 points per game. 6-11 center Shayne Washington (16.3 ppg, 9.1 rpg) is a big-time player, and could provide plenty of matchup problems in the early rounds.
Despite scoring 98 points in their MAC championship win over Toledo (more a product of the Rockets’ high-octane style), Western Michigan won’t ever be confused with an offensive juggernaut.
In fact, they can absolutely be shut down in games. This team scored 35 points in a blowout loss to Northwestern in December and put up just 37 in a loss to Eastern Michigan. Eww.
