Yale 80, Penn 79 (Attendance: 1,380)

Penn (12-1) fell back into a first-place tie with one game to go, bowing to loose but determined Yale (8-5) that had clinched third place a week ago. The Bulldogs, who trailed by five with less than a minute left, won on a layup by first-year Paul Atkinson with 0.3 seconds showing on the clock. Atkinson, the only Yale player to start every game this season, finished with 17 points.

Trey Phills, hot from 3-point range, led the way with 24, one more than Miye Oni, who fed Atkinson for the winning hoop.

Daniel Foreman and Caleb Wood, off the bench, each had 21 for the Quakers.

Prospects are good that Yale and Penn will face each other again on March 10th in the first round of the Ivy League tournament. Should Penn beat Brown and Harvard take Columbia in the regular season finales on Saturday, the teams would finish deadlocked for first and Harvard be awarded top seed under the tiebreaker system.

Harvard 98, Cornell 88, double overtime (1,636)

The rash of single and double overtime games in the Ivy League this season continued in Cambridge as Harvard (12-1) took over sole possession of first place.

Cornell’s Matt Morgan made a free throw to tie it 77-77 at the end of regulation. The first overtime ended 87-87. But in the second, the Crimson ran away with it, outscoring the Red 11-1.

Morgan had a career-high 34 points with six threes. Chris Lewis of Harvard also had his best ever with 29, including seven in the second OT.

Cornell, Columbia and Princeton are all tied for fourth place at 5-8.

Princeton 78, Brown 63 (516)

Defending champion Princeton (5-8) kept its slim Ivy tournament hopes alive with its win at Brown’s Pizzitola Sports Center. At the same time, Brown (4-9) was eliminated from the four-team competition.

Miles Stephens (22) and Amir Bell (21) paced the Tigers. Obi Okolie topped Brown with 17 and freshman Desmond Cambridge had12.

Princeton led 32-25 at the half then went on a 15-4 run after the intermission.

Dartmouth 80, Columbia 78 (577)

Dartmouth (3-10) shot 56.6 percent, including 12 of 24 3-pointers. Adrease Jackson and Taylor Johnson each scored 12 for the winners. Dartmouth led by 14 with 4:14 left but the Lions narrowed it to 78-75 three minutes later.

Kyle Catlin scored 22 and Mike Smith 20 for Columbia (5-8).
