Could this be the New Orleans Pelicans logo?

It goes without saying that Roundball Daily has become the worldwide leader in New Orleans Pelicans logo coverage. Days after we posted that this logo could become the new design, the Hornets came out and vehemently denied the accusation, saying that they had not yet decided on the name “Pelicans” or that specific design. They didn’t mention us by name, but we know they were thinking about us. (Not really, but, still.)
After hearing that the New Orleans Hornets may be changing their name to the Pelicans, 99 Designs held a contest to come up with a logo design. Almost 200 top quality designers participated in the contest, submitting unique variations of the beaky bird infused with a little New Orleans flavor.
