Celtics’ Jaylen Brown impressive in NBA Summer League debut

(RD)–Most Celtics fans weren’t thrilled when their team chose California forward Jaylen Brown with the third overall pick in the NBA Draft.
We know one…ahem…not going to name any names but he does write for this website…who collapsed to the floor in dismay when he was picked ahead of Oklahoma guard Buddy Hield and Providence guard Kris Dunn.
Well, it’s only one game, and it’s only Summer League, but Brown may have changed some Celtics fans’ minds on Monday night.
The 19-year-old finished with 16 points and 6 rebounds in his Summer League debut, a 102-94 win over Ben Simmons and the Philadelphia 76ers.

Brown was just 2-of-7 from the field, but he converted on 11 of 17 free throw opportunities, showing a knack for getting to the line. He also threw down a thunderous dunk late in the game.
Terry Rozier was the best player on the court Monday night, finishing with 18 and 6 assists for the summer Celts. Guard R.J. Hunter finished with 17 points.
