Whatever happened to former No. 1 overall pick Anthony Bennett?

Poor Anthony Bennett.
The former UNLV big man, who was the No. 1 overall pick in the 2013 NBA Draft, was never destined for stardom. He was mis-scouted, thought of as a hybrid in an evolving league, and instead looked about as obsolete as a triceratops in Times Square.
Instead of being a future star, Bennett, who was undersized and positionless at 6-8, 235 pounds, never really had a chance. Cleveland chose him at No. 1 over guys like Giannis Antetokounmpo, CJ McCollum, and Rudy Gobert, although it could have been a lot worse–as the 2013 draft will go down as one of the weakest of all-time.
Now, Bennett’s name will be mentioned alongside LaRue Martin, Joe Barry Carroll, and Greg Oden as some of the worst top picks in history.
Still, he’s been able to contribute overseas, playing for Turkish club Fenerbahce, which won a EuroLeague title last year. He was released by the club after the season, though.
Let’s check in on him in the highlights above.
