SF- Doug McDermott

Sr., Creighton

The nation’s leading scorer hasn’t missed a beat since joining the Big East. McDermott has put up 25.9 points and 7 rebounds per game this season, up from his All-American numbers from a year ago. He’s also shooting a Lloyd Christmas-stupid .513 from the field and 44 percent from beyond the three-point line, all while PASSING LARRY BIRD on the all-time scoring list.

He’s been like Freddy Kruger to Villanova, which seems to be caught in a reoccurring nightmare every time it takes the court against the Bluejays. Creighton blasted ‘Nova 101-80 on Sunday after the 96-68 massacre in Philly on Jan. 20 (and it wasn’t that close).

McDermott is a legitimate candidate for National Player of the Year, and probably a frontrunner at this point.

Honorable Mention: Melvin Ejim, Sr., Iowa State
