josephyoung-bleacherreport7. Oregon Ducks (23-9, 10-8 Pac 12)-Oregon was a bit disappointing this season after entering the year with Top 10 aspirations. The Ducks struggled mightily on defense, giving up 105, 100, 96, and 82 points in a string of games in December. It was that shaky defense that caused Oregon to lose five straight games and fall all the way out of the rankings.

Things looked bleak for the Ducks then, but they responded by rolling off eight wins in a row from mid-February to mid-March, including an upset win over top seed Arizona.

Oregon has a trio of guards who can score, including leading man Joseph Young (18.6 ppg) who transferred from Houston. UNLV transfer Mike Moser (13.5 ppg, 8 rpg) came alive late in the season, and he’s a double-double threat any time he steps out onto the floor. Damyean Dotson and Jonathan Loyd were a big part of the Ducks’ run to the Sweet 16 last year.

BYU lost at Oregon, 100-96 in overtime on Dec. 21.

10. BYU Cougars (23-11, 13-5 WCC)-Like the Ducks, the Cougs are one of the most explosive offensive teams in the nation, averaging 84.2 points per game. BYU lost at Oregon, 100-96 in overtime on Dec. 21, so there’s little doubt that this game will be entertaining.

The Cougars are led by a pair of big, sharpshooting guards. 6-5 junior guard Tyler Haws averages 23.4 points per game and shoots 41 percent from three-point range. 6-6 sophomore guard Kyle Collinsworth shoots 36% from long distance. Controlling both will be the key for Oregon in this game.

6-2 junior Matt Carlino shoots 34% from three and averages 13.7 points per game. 6-10 freshman Eric Mika is tough to handle inside, and puts up 11.7 points and 6.4 boards per.
