15. CHARLOTTE BOBCATS

HOW THEY CAN WIN: If this were college basketball, the Bobcats would be the national champions. So, there’s that.  Rookie Michael Kidd-Gilchrist gives Charlotte athleticism and defense at small forward, and last year’s first-rounder Bismack Biyombo should receive more playing time this season. The addition of Ben Gordon gives the ‘Cats a little more scoring punch, but fellow Connecticut guard Kemba Walker is going to have to have a breakout season in order for Charlotte to climb out of the cellar.

WHY THEY WON’T: There’s a reason why the Bobcats finished with the worst winning percentage in NBA history last season. There’s just not enough talent on the roster to compete, plain and simple.

FINAL DESTINATION: Improvement will be measured in minor increments. It would be nice to see the Bobcats be a little more competitive in games against the bottom half of the league, especially on the road. The goal should be to climb out of the cellar, and make good on another high draft pick in 2013.

KEY PLAYERS:

G Ben Gordon (12.5 ppg, 2.4 apg)

G Kemba Walker (12.1 ppg, 4.4 apg)

G Gerald Henderson (15.1 ppg, 4.1 rpg)

G Corey Magette (15 ppg, 3.9 rpg)

F Michael Kidd-Gilchrist (Rookie)

New*

OUR CALL: 15-67. The addition of Gordon and Kidd-Gilchrist gives Charlotte a little more scoring punch, but the Bobcats will still be dreadful.
